(102,219 posts)I don't deny that some do. But, I've been fortunate never to have any significant reaction after any vaccine. (knock on wood).
For me, the only thing I noticed is the pain in my bad ankle since I discontinued NSAIDs two days before and three days after to try to ensure an optimal immune response.

(9,071 posts)No reaction to the first two, and no reaction to the booster and flu shot combo.
Some people just luck out with it.

(13,869 posts)My arm felt like someone had hit me with a bat after the second shot. Very little pain this time and no real side effects.
On edit: dont take any OTC pain killers before the shot, but a Tylenol an hour later and then several more over the next day really helps.

(115,669 posts)as from the second vax: Sore arm, a mild headache, slight fever for the first day; the most pervasive was fatigue - and I'm still dragging my butt. I've been able to do the things I would have done ordinarily, but very lethargically - could barely stay awake through a zoom meeting this morning, had to take naps yesterday and today even though I usually don't nap during the day. But the headache is gone and my arm is only slightly sore now, so if the last shot is any indication I should be fine by tomorrow morning.

(57,073 posts)Same as 1st two jabs.
Started about 6 hrs after jab & lasted till about noon the next day. Very mild.
I've read this is the most common side effect. 👍
Congrats on your upcoming booster!

(13,490 posts)I was a little more tired for a couple days after and that was all I experienced. I was able to get it in August because of drugs I take to suppress my immune system

(2,220 posts)along with the flu shot. I had mild reaction to the first shot, and the second one totally kicked my ass for a day or two.
So, yesterday, about an hour and a half after I got the shot, I became extremely tired. I slept for three hours. When I woke up, I had a low fever, 99.4, and my whole body ached. The fever was still there this morning, but went away by noon. The fatigue is just about gone. My arm..damn..my arm still hurts, much worse than yesterday, and the pain goes up into my neck and across my shoulders. Im alternating heat and ice.
Disclaimer: It isnt unusual for me to have wicked reactions to stuff like this. We wont talk about the ten days of Shingrix hell.

(32,818 posts)I will do it but my husband will have to go with me and hold my hand.

(2,220 posts)but there are some really crappy side effects. For me, they lasted over a week. I had the same reactions from the second shot, but they only lasted two days. Thank god there arent Shingrix boosters!

(21,714 posts)Had the first one, and had to get the 2nd one 3-4 months later. It was kind of interesting because I had the first shot, and then ended up having a quadruple bypass. Didn't know I would be having it when I had the first shot. But I went back and got the 2nd one. I had a pretty sore arm after the first one because I got the flu shot at the same time.

Believe me you don't want a bad case of shingles. 2 days of "the flu" when you know it's not the flu is sooo worth it.

(34,060 posts)Right now my arm feels like someone punched it.
For #2 I had a big welt (several inches across) & migraines for more than a month (started halfway between #1 and #2). Not looking forward to them starting again, but I'd be less happy with COVID. I'm not seeing the welt yet, but this pharmacist put the shot farther forward than the last 2.

(34,060 posts)A about 18 hours - arm felt like a horse had kicked it. I needed to use my right arm to lift my left (vaccinated) above my head.
About the same time I felt a fever coming on - I typically feel them a couple of hours before they appear on the thermometer. Since I had one handy, I watched the temperature creep up over the next 2 hours until it hit 99.5 (which, for me, is a fever - I typically run 96.8 or so.
By now my arm is considerably less sore (but a welt is starting), and my temperature is high-normal for me (97.2)
Pretty sure I earned the muscle aches riding my bike for 150 miles this weekend.

(11,589 posts)With the first shot the pain was pretty bad and lasted for several days. The second shot was the easiest. The pain lasted only 20 minutes and then it was gone. The third one the pain was mild and lasted about a day. The evening after getting the booster I slept 11 to 12 hours but that could've been because I'd had an elective procedure the the day before and had gotten very little sleep. I also got a flu shot about a half hour after the booster.

(44,973 posts)And a "covid" arm. As far as I can tell, "covid" arm is specific to Moderna.
My booster's overall side effects were worse than the second dose (or the first). But my arm pain was worse with the second dose.

(9,071 posts)He's a healthcare worker, so he got the Pfizer booster today around noon I want to say. He also got his flu shot at the same time.
Just a general fatigue, "want to go to bed early" kind of thing. We were going to watch a movie together after I got home, but he was all done by 7p and dragging himself up to bed.
This tracks with how one of my Pfizer shots went back in April. Can't remember which one, but I got it at around 8:30a, and by 2p I was faceplanted into my pillow, oblivious to the world.
But he doesn't have any chills or fever or anything. He said he thought his arm will be sore tomorrow. We'll see. Mine was after my first shot as well.

(4,873 posts)-hardly anything for the first two.
I had a bad arm for a number of days, but it was chills and fatigue that was crazy strong for 3 days. It lingered til day 5.
