Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsJust heard on Rachel that there appears to be some Catholics attemping to claim a religious
exemption to the vaccine. (Strange when I was kid & being raised Catholic vaccines were not an issue. My mom told me that Sunday after the polio vaccine was announced the priest offered a special prayer of thanksgiving for the vaccine at Mass and even said a blessing for Dr. Salk.)
Meanwhile, Pope Francis is vaccinated. He has announced that all Vatician employees will be vaccinated and those who aren't will see their paychecks getting smaller.
I don't think they anti-vaxers can pull this one off.

(92,061 posts)there is no religious exemption to endanger other Peoples lives. They dont want to be vaccinated, then find employment that doesnt require it

(115,586 posts)they think it's made of aborted babies (fetal stem cells). Interestingly, the drug being touted by Rod DeSatan, Regeneron, as a treatment for covid if (when) you get it after not being vaccinated, was developed from fetal stem cells.

(28,072 posts)The crowd that thinks they're "more Catholic than the Pope" (especially this one).
But if I were an employer & a Catholic employee tried to claim an exemption I'd cite Francis' support of the vaccines and let them know I wasn't buying their lame arguments.

(8,318 posts)Some religious leaders, especially in the United States, believe Catholics should be allowed to claim conscientious objection to the Covid-19 vaccines on religious grounds. However Pope Francis has disagreed with this, and said the vaccines were "morally acceptable" and could be used "in good conscience".

(8,318 posts)The Pope has said he does not know how to explain why some cardinals in the Catholic Church are hesitant to get the Covid-19 jab.
"It's a bit strange because humanity has a history of friendship with vaccines," Francis told reporters during a flight from Slovakia to Italy.
The pontiff, who is vaccinated himself, has previously encouraged people to get jabbed for the "common good".
