Do you think if Manchin supports the reconciliation bill, he can get Shelley Capito to support it.

They are both senators from the same state. It's going to help West Virginia immensely.

Any chance you think she would support it if Manchin does?

That way Sinema would be irrelevant.

...Democrat.

Sinema is the one who does not really make sense. She is from a purple state like Ossoff and Warnock from Georgia, but she seems to be catering to a centrist Republican base that simply does not exist in Arizona. Who is her constituency, because Republicans are not supporting her and neither are Democrats? There is a reason why Mark Kelley has higher approval ratings than she does.

If you are from a purple state, you may not necessarily try to be as liberal as Elizabeth Warren, but you still should lean into your base, rather than go out of your way to alienate it.

We shouldn't let Manchin point to his constituency as a reason for his recalcitrance. The 3.5 trillion reconciliation package polls well in WV. It has a net support of +22 with likely republican voters in WV, and +43 overall. Whatever reasons he's coming up with for refusing to support it, we shouldn't accept "listening to the people of WV" as an excuse.

(It's also very popular in AZ, strongly supported by Democrats, but actually slightly underwater with republicans but only at a net -7)

Manchin can be negotiated with. Its Sinema I am worried about. I dont think she has a clue about being a senator.
