A viral video capturing the scene opens with the woman throwing Sean Notle Jr.'s Navy cover to the ground, calling it 'disgusting' as she slaps the US service member in the face inside the lobby of Central Pizza, in Berlin, Connecticut.
Notle Jr. - who was still in his military camouflage after stepping out for lunch from the Naval Submarine School, in nearby Groton - kept a cool head as his friend video taped the incident.
'Show his uniform,' the woman continued to yell.
Despite showing her his military ID, the woman did not believe the Nolte Jr. was in the Navy.
After she left the pizzeria several times, Nolte Jr. said the woman returned and started yelling at the staff that she knows Nolte is 'a fake' because her husband is in the Army.
Notle Jr. said he tried his best to keep the situation calm and even told the woman to thank her husband on his behalf for his service.
Jason Bikakis, the owner of Central Pizza, told News 8 he was shocked by what he saw.
'I have never seen something like that,' he said.
Bikakia said he witnessed the woman slap the sailor.
'Slap him, yes, in the face like she knows him for a long time,' Bikakis said.

(16,199 posts)Its been over two years since the blueberries uniform was retired. How someone in this part of Connecticut could not know that is beyond belief.

Man, now I miss pizza. The midwest is great if you want to own a home, but what I wouldn't do for a slice...

In big letters on the front left side of his uniform were the words "US Space Force."
I didn't yell at him or hit him. However, I did give him the side eye.

thing...what with the "Star Trek"-like uniform shirt/top and all. Its head however, reports directly to the Secretary of the Air Force, which makes me wonder why it even exists since the logical thing all the time was for it to be part of the Air Force.

(46,492 posts)If they report directly to the AF Secretary, seems like it is part of the AF.

(7,216 posts)... and satellite navigation. So that's one thing.
Also, the Navy and the Army actually coordinate and cooperate on a lot of activities. For example, the Future Vertical Lift program... which seeks some common systems for all future rotary wing aircraft from drones to heavy-lift helicopters. The BNavy and the Army being the largest users of helicopters. That does have a SATCOM element too.

The biggest components other than the Air Force come from the Army.

And this guy in Costco looked like a clown.

(8,387 posts)We used to have a mental health care system that sought answers to questions like those.
Now we do the medieval thing and make the mentally ill objects of public scorn and ridicule.
But, like a lot of people having mental health breakdowns captured for internet immortality, something is wrong with her.

If we had had the mental health system we need, it'd not only be hopelessly overwhelmed but also under severe attack by all the crazy Venn circles, including what constitutes diagnosable mental illness.
