Got both Covid vaccines this spring. Then, since my daughter is due with our first grandchild in a couple weeks. I got the tdap and flu shots last week. And I've been hearing horror stories from friends who've had shingles, I got my first shingles shot yesterday. So I'm good to go!!!

(22,697 posts)Even so, it was $190 out of pocket. But three friends who've gotten shingles really suffered.

(22,697 posts)I went the the dermatologist last month and she prescribed three different ointments. Our crappy insurance refused to cover one of them. The pharmacy was going to charge me $250 for it. When I brought it to the dermatologist's attention, they told me about another pharmacy that had it for $65 delivered! Ridiculous!

(31,016 posts)Giant supermarket to have the best prices so far. I still had to pay $67 for a little bottle of ear drops. I dont have prescription drug insurance anymore because I found I was paying more in co-pays then the prices I could find by looking for coupons. This is insane. Its hard enough taking care of your health when you get old. Its all maintenance and repair

(31,016 posts)I'm still working, the prescription plan from my employer charges a $50 for 90 day generics no matter what they are. I've found the same generics for $5 for a 90 day supply through goodrx.

(40,209 posts)Some people have a tough reaction to the 2nd shingles shot. You may want to schedule the 2nd shot when you have nothing important to do over the next couple of days.

(22,697 posts)pharmacist was a butcher. She really jammed it home. Hurt like hell going in. I can get the second one in two months. She recommended getting it before the and of the year, since the price will probably go up (she said).

(22,697 posts)It's been 24 hours since I got the shot. I took some Ibuprofen and it seems to be helping.

(182,788 posts)Theres a minimum but no max between shingles shots. Apparently I got a pneumonia shot in 2014.
No costs. All covered by insurance.
