Secret military aircraft possibly exposed on TikTok
An OPSEC violation has once again made a case for why using TikTok should be a punishable offense in the military, this time after someone revealed some US stealth technology testing going on and posted it to the Chinese government-affiliated platform.
The stealthy object -possibly a component of a new drone or plane- was filmed on a tractor-trailer platform at Helendale Radar Cross Section Facility. After making their debut on a social media platform tied to America’s top adversary, images of the object quickly made their way to the internet, gracing everything from 4chan to Reddit. https://warisboring.com/secret-military-aircraft-possibly-exposed-on-tiktok/

1. It's already illegal
Any use of cameras or recording devices is prohibited in this area. No need to single out a specific platform like TikTok.

2. I agree
It’s the person with the camera on their phone. TikTok is just distribution. There are real issues with TikTok, but this I do not believe is one of them.

3. Or a not too secret test article
Resembles a known drone shape depicted in some video from the radar test facility.
The one on the truck appears upside down. |

4. My mentor at work was in counter intelligence in the military
He worked at black sites and can't tell me a whole lot.
We work in aerospace engineering. He has said that he was working on stuff 30 years ago that was more advanced than the modern aviation technology we deign at our work. He can't imagine what they are working on now at black sites. From the books my mentor has authored, I can surmise that he worked on military satellite technology and security. Again, he doesn't say much, but he can say a few things like what he's said. He's always on the lookout for when something gets declassified and he'll call me over to his computer to look at some new site that's been declassified. Cool stuff. |
