Let's Talk About Kyrsten Sinema

The Arizona senator and alleged Democrat is standing in the way of Joe Biden's ambitious agenda.

"But the point is this is her theory and she's pursuing that goal. Her actions have basically nothing to do with actual policy questions. She's using bucking her party to build a story abt herself in Arizona. Generally speaking, when people say oh they're doing what their lobbyist pals are telling them, usually that's BS. There's more chicken and egg than that. With Sinema, I get the sense that may be much closer to the truth. In any case, if I were up there negotiating, I too would be most worried about her."

No confidence. JMHO She will run as a gqp in ‘24...and lose. They don’t want her either. That’s why she ran as a dem in the first place

I know she’s become a thorn, but having her in the numbers has allowed the president to add numerous judges to the bench. Pass a heathy coronavirus bill and other things. Having the majority in a 50-50 senate is crucial. As far as the infrastructure bills go, we must get that first one passed so work can begin. The second one can happen in 2022 and we’ll still be good for November 2022.

I live in AZ and I see tv commercials praising her everyday sponsored by the National Democratic Party. Everyday I see at least one.

He was a war hawk, or if you were of his ilk, "he wanted the US's interests abroad to be carried by a strong military and wanted the US to be willing to fight for what it needed". He was pro-business and while wrong (IMHO) about how to stimulate the economy, he had a base from which to operate.

His "Maverick" persona was built upon times when he went against his party because legislation made sense. When he partnered with Senator Feingold on campaign reform, when he voted to save the ACA, etc... I rarely ever agreed with the man, but you had a sense of where he was coming from.

Sinema has no core, that I can see. No values. As the article said, she is not coming from a place of "good faith". You can deal with someone, even if you have diametrically opposing ideas, if they are coming in good faith, to solve a problem. Sinema is trying to build a name based on "bucking the system" but there is not "there there". No real reason for her to be doing anything she is doing (except she is getting money from groups who oppose legislation, and she is taking their bribes and doing their bidding). I suppose that is a "real reason" but it is a corrupt one and one that we cannot allow in Congress.

As others have said, she is not liked or respected in her home state. She should be opposed by a Democrat in the primary and she will definitely lose, even if she should win the primary. Why would Republicans want her if they can have a real Republican. Why should Democrats support her if 1. She is destroying the Democratic platform in DC, and 2. She is not viable for re-election.

bill until the the already dramatically (almost 80% of Biden's new spending and tax incentives removed) reduced bi-partisan bill passes. That is a major violation of the pre-existing agreements. She is not operating in good faith. Manchin is doing the same thing, more or less.

: During a private meeting with the president, Sinema made clear she’s still not on board with the party’s $3.5 trillion social spending plan and is hesitant to engage on some specifics until the infrastructure package passes the House
