17. The idea of the senate is a disaster.

Today it is better than it was in its inception but it is still a disaster in that we can be held hostage by a lone politician and we have no recourse if they do not represent our state. I don’t know of a better system without sitting down and having a good think about it but the ability for a senator to tank policy is pretty damned strong considering their is nothing tying that power to number of constituiebts.
