Mississippi Attorney General Says Overturning Roe v. Wade Will Give Women Amazing Choices
According to Lynn Fitch, curtailing legal access to abortions will improve womens lives.

In less than three months, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments concerning a Mississippi abortion law and the stakes, for those who think pregnant people should have the right to decide what to do with their bodies, could not be higher. The case, Dobbs v. Jackson Womens Health Organization, will offer an opportunity for the courts conservative judges to overturn Roe v. Wade, and given their decision to let Texas effectively ban abortion at six weeks, theres a very real possibility that nearly five decades of precedent will be shredded overnight. Obviously, thats a horrifying prospect to millions of people, particularly the ones who may decide at some point that they dont want to have a child. But according to Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch, forcing someone to carry a pregnancy to term will actually improve their life, and theyll probably even thank the government in the end.
In an interview last week, Fitch boldly claimed that ending most legalized abortion will empower women to both raise children and pursue careers. Think about this, Fitch told EWTN Pro-Life Weekly host Catherine Hadro, The lives that will be touched, the babies that will be saved, the mothers that will get the chance to really redirect their lives. And they have all these opportunities that they didnt have 50 years ago. Fifty years ago, professional women, they really wanted you to make a choice. Now you dont have to. Now you have the opportunity to be whatever you want to be. You have the option in life to really achieve your dream and goals, and you can have those beautiful children as well.
Ya hear that, ladies? You can have it all, minus the right to choose. An amazing life is just around the corner, as soon as you give birth to, raise, and pay for a child the government insists you have.

(1,609 posts)I was reading some comments Freepers were making on a post there. It terrified me! It was titled "Professor warns of a mating crisis in US as fewer men go to college." Here are some of the comments on that thread:
'The real issue is the uncontrolled SMV of callow young women (who used to be subject to strict societal strictures) - which is further abetted by our current free-for-all culture.
Young women used to be told by their parents "Don't waste the pretty" -- meaning use your years of maximum attractiveness to attract a good man WHO WILL ACTUALLY MARRY them, rather than partying with a succession of "cute" guys who have no interest in marriage, finally arriving at 30 with their looks going, and no husband."
"This guy seems to think the problem is men.
I say the problem is women.
And although in many instances in life, a given problem is often a two-way street, in this instance, I think its a almost entirely a one-way street. The problem is women.
Men are better off avoiding college and avoiding women who think that they are some sort of special prize that deserve to be won by some very lucky guy."
"Ban the Pill and the problem will go away."

I think she should take each child she forces women to have and have to sign a contract that she will raise it right through college.

To travel around the country for abortion tourism? See new places? Meet new people?
Or stay instate and have illegal procedures that might kill or sterilize women?
Those ARE amazing choices if Roe is overturned.

Because We said so.
Because We have set the parameters for those same women, too weak and feeble to make their own choices which should always, always include birthing babies. What are women for, after all, but sacred vessels for the next generation?
Women may not see their full potential but with God's grace? We do. We see it all and bring the message:
Under his eye, ladies. Under his eye.

(50,453 posts)I dont know about you, but if I was a young woman in Mississippi right now and there was some reason why I couldnt move out of state, Id be taking a little vacation to Seattle to have my tubes tied. I have no faith that I wouldnt accidentally get a Mississippi doctor who believes interfering with Gods Will is a sin and would put me under, make two incisions in about the right places to do the procedure, then sew me back up without doing the tube-tying.

You and the governor have the "Amazing" Choice to eliminate rape like Gov Abbot of Texas.
Or you can "empower" the rapists.
