Letter sent to Manchin, Sinema and my Representative
For what it's worth, I sent the below to Manchin, Sinema and my Representative today. I am asking all of you to do the same, so we can inundate these obstructionists and try to persuade them to vote for President Biden's Build Back Better legislation.
Dear Senator,
I am writing you to ask you to step up and support President Biden's Build Back Better bill. This bill is absolutely essential to the American People. For decades this country has catered to the wealthy and the corporate elite at the expense of it's workers, children, parents and elderly. It is no longer sustainable and because the deck is stacked against the people, the ties that should bind us are straining. The very environment that supports human life is under siege and the president's legislation is the only hope we have of beginning to reverse the dire consequences of global warming. Along with putting America on the right path to a green economy, this legislation contains provisions for affordable preschool and child care, community college, expansion of Medicaid to the most vulnerable and enhanced Medicare to finally include dental, vision and hearing benefits.
The media and the Republicans keep painting this as racking up debt, but this bill is fully paid for with just and fair taxes on those who have gamed the system for years. Just look at the below link from The Tax Policy Center detailing the top marginal tax rates from 1913 through 2020.
