Wait for it. Covid vaccinations are rising, which, presumably means that cases of Covid will fall...

so when the numbers begin to fall in Florida, wait for Ron De Santis to suck the oxygen out of the air and say, "See, I told you so. This is like the flu. Things just get better on their own."

That doesn’t kick in until around 85%- Fauci has said with Delta, it may take 90%.

And the goal right now is to give the hospitals a break from unvacced Covid patients, because that's the main source of the casualties that we have today.

This is the realistic objective: As the vaccination rates continue to rise, it will free up the hospitals from diverting all of its resources to anti-vaxxers. Overtime, the anti-vaxxers will either be killed off by their own stupidity, or wake up and get vaccinated.

"Herd immunity" will probably be more of a situation where vaccinated people will not end up in the hospital, and not end up dead. That would be a success. That's what someone like De Santis will try to hijack.

In conclusion, the vaccination rates are going to have a final effect. This isn't going away on its own like a flu.
