(3,050 posts)Sometimes never comes down. I wish President Biden would kill the tariffs and pressure firms to cut prices $ for $. Fighting an unneeded 25% China import duty is not helping. Its a tax for fuck sakes Republicans!

There is nothing wrong with that in general.
It becomes an issue when the things in question are essential items.

(7,308 posts)WE need to prevent trusts and monopolies. And where monopolies make sense, they should be public services, not private businesses.
It's RIDICULOUS that monopolistic essential utilities can be be run as for-profit businesses, even when subject to rate controls.
