What people don’t get is that when we say we need more people to go to college, yeah, we like most areas of study and they all have value, but what we really lack is students going into math and science. We need more scientists and engineers!

Yes, a college experience (at least when I went) was supposed to help kids become more "well rounded," expose them to other people and places, but the education is also the most important, we need more math majors and scientists to help solve the emerging problems in this world. History is important too.
