(21,484 posts)another defendant who was in her office only got 8 months for his felony charge. Why only 8 months? 8 years would have been more appropriate, IMO.

(49,002 posts)The guy serving 8 months plead guilty.
The guy is giving information about the Oath Keepers attack.
But if you knew this you hid it to push a narrative of leniency.
However, I don't suspect dishonourable intentions because I think you simply may not have read about his case recently when he was sentenced. There is a lot of news these days.

(21,484 posts)he pled guilty and is aiding the investigation. The article did not mention it and I had not read about it. That explains the light sentence. Thanks.

(43,176 posts)and the DNC and RNC bomber still loose. I still suspect that was a putup job from the leaders to create chaos and make the insurrection appear "bipartisan".

(49,002 posts)They think most GOP Representatives are part of Deep State.
They like Boebert, Greene, Cawthorn, Hawley, Gosar, and a few others. McConnell is viewed as a traitor. Cruz is not conservative enough.
They also think the Supreme Court is not sufficiently conservative.
Thus the simplest (and most likely) explanation is that the bomber likely thought "a pox on both their houses" and was not paid by the coup plotters. Though it unfortunately has to be given some consideration.

(15,623 posts)Anybody getting 45 days was likely charged with simple misdemeanour trespassing, and probably also got probation following their sentence.
Nobody charged with felony obstruction is getting 45 days.

(35,345 posts)what the source was. I don't care if they just walked in and out 45 days is bullshit.

(525 posts)who are handing out some of the light sentences. Like this guy: "Federal judge questions whether Jan. 6 Capitol rioters are treated unfairly by the Justice Department"
Rejecting the recommendation of prosecutors, a federal judge sentenced a Jan. 6 rioter to probation on Friday and suggested that the Justice Department was being too hard on those who broke into the Capitol compared to the people arrested during anti-racism protests following George Floyds murder.
U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden questioned why federal prosecutors had not brought more cases against those accused in 2020 summertime protests, reading out statistics on riot cases in the nations capital that were not prosecuted.

Can you imagine wondering for MONTHS when the FBI is going to be beating on your door?
I really enjoy contemplating how they must wake up at night, hearts racing, thinking they heard someone.

(47,496 posts)There will be people who may never be identified and arrested, but surely they will live with the discomfort of never knowing when and if the FBI will come knocking on their door. A rather fitting torture for the many who do not get held accountable. Sometimes, people aren't arrested until years later. Gotta suck being a failed insurrectionist.

You know, I actually respect the idiot traitors who believed tRump that they were patriots and who took action to save their nation from us more than the pointless idiots who whine about how democracy is dead and our nation's a shithole not worth saving. That's not exactly saying much, of course.
