Why has the DOJ & PBO done nothing to stop TAINTED Voting Machines from being used?

Where is Holder?

Is the fix in already?

Is this election already in the books?

Fuck, what the hell is going on in this Country?

HOW MANY ELECTIONS MUST WE ENDURE THAT ARE TAINTED BY GOP CONTROLLED MACHINES?

Is this a Country's politics just a huge charade?

I know you have only been here for a little while,
but that very same rationalization for inaction has persisted at DU since 2001.

...that one (giving them enough rope), and they are just "keeping their powder dry".
After 11 years, the Democratic Party has plenty of rope and dry powder.
There must be another reason for the silence and inaction.

You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their rhetoric, promises, or excuses.

I need to inquire as to what kind of machines we use in Republican controlled Douglas county. Luckily even if they are the Hart machines we are voting by paper mail in ballot. So there would actually be a piece of paper to look at in the event of a recount.

...seriously. Show me a candidate or Party official who claims that they lost an election because of rigged voting machines. And explain how those same voting machines let us win in 2006 and 2008.

First because, again, the advocates of this opinion never explain how we won races in Republican leaning districts with the same machines, second, because the size of the conspiracy you would need to carry it out (Republican Party officials, Business owners, engineers, programmers, statisticians, etc.) is so massively large you could never keep it secret, and third, because Republicans keep trying to steel elections the old-fashined way.

--map of states showing the crazy patchwork of voting equipment

-------------------
http://verifiedvoting.org/

Halfway down the page see-- "Voting Information 2012." Here's the type of info that is there:

• In 11 states, paperless voting accounts for most or all Election Day ballots. Six states have paperless e-voting statewide: DE, GA, LA, MD, NJ, and SC. In five states, paperless voting counts for a heavy majority of votes: IN, PA, TX, TN, and VA. In KS, we estimate that at least 40% of the vote is paperless.

• In 32 states, voter-marked paper ballots counted by ballot scanners will account for most or all votes. 19 states will use voter-marked paper ballots statewide. In 13 states and DC, optical scan voting will account for the majority of ballots: AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, IL, HI, KY, MO, NC, WA, WI, and WY.

• 33 states plus DC now provide a voter-verifiable paper record (VVPR) for every vote cast. A VVPR may be a paper ballot, or it may be a printout that the voter can view before she casts her ballot on a DRE voting machine.

• 40 states have moved toward requiring voter-verified paper records (VVPR), either through legislation or administrative decision. 6 states will not fully implement their VVPR requirements until some time after the 2012 election: AR, CO, FL, MD, NJ, and VA.

• 4 states are now mostly or entirely paperless but have enacted laws to end the use of direct-recording electronic voting machines, or fund their replacement: MD, NJ, TN, and VA. Maryland's and Virginia's statutes require a transition to optically scanned paper ballots. NJ's statute allows printer retrofits. Tennessee repealed a required transition to paper ballots in 2011, but current law requires the state to provide counties with funds to replace DREs with optical scan equipment and ballot marking devices for voters with disabilities.

it has to be a nonpartisan approach, and during election while running for office is not the time for Obama.

Where is Al Gore? Where is John Kerry? They're the ones who lost the most and they aren't running for office right now. They or someone with their stature (I'm looking at you, Michael Moore) need to be working on this.
