So, how do we defend democracy and voting rights...
When a large chunk of the country (maybe 1/3) are actually of the mindset that Authoritarian rule would be better (so long as it’s their preferred Dictator? Of course) and many are actively working to undermine voting rights and faith in our electoral system? I am not being hyperbolic in saying they hate democracy or even the type of Republic we have and we are still at grave risk of losing our form of Government. The last Coup attempt failed… how do we assure the next one doesn’t succeed?
I realize there are no easy answers… just worried too many don’t realize how close we came and that we aren’t out of the woods yet. (Not so much here on DU but in general)
