John Gruden "T***p" and the destruction of societal norms
Gruden is a horrible person. No one who has so much hatred in his heart can ever be a "good person", but, with societal norms, they can be a functioning member of society.
We all have these dark places in ourselves. But, in order to have a civil society, we either work to suppress them, or we work to be better.
I have known some complete assholes in my life. Thankfully, our societal norms prevented them from acting on their assholish tendencies.
For me, of all of the destructive evil that came from Donnie Dipshit being in the White House, the most evil, destructive and extinction level result is the normalization of the evil in humanity's soul.
At one time, not too long ago, the revelation of what Gruden believed, would have resulted in maybe 5-10 percent of America seeing him as a martyr. Now, within seconds of him being fired, 30-35 percent will portray him as a victim of "cancel culture".
All the right needs to do is combine that 35%, with 14-15% of the "I want lower taxes" group, throw in a third party candidate, and they take power.
Gruden will just be the latest wicket on America's descent to madness.
We had a former Navy Seal that committed horrendous and evil war crimes. He was pardoned. One person who I am no longer friends with, tried to excuse this seal's action by saying; "some of the old guys at the VFW said terrible things happened during the war". The guy who told me that was a retired Navy Officer that had commanded an aviation squadron!
This is why I want to watch the Gruden story closely.
When will the rehabilitation tour start?
When will this be dismissed as "locker room talk"?
We only function as a civil society if we enforce societal norms.
We only function as a civil society if good and decent behavior is rewarded, and evil behavior is punished and shunned.

That is not entirely true.
The emails were over a 7 year period and were not just one email.
There is a ton of emails that we haven't seen. Gruden is awful but he isn't alone. He is a member of the old white boys club. There are quite a few executives who are too arrogant to not use a company e-mail to say how they feel about everything.
Judging from his resume, he was born and marinated in privilege.
Lost in the noise was the sharing of topless cheerleaders without their permission.
He will ultimately walk away with more money than all of the folks' character he besmirched.
Sadly, not enough people will care as long as there is football.
