Anti-Vax Flat Earth Preacher Rob Skiba Dies From COVID-19
"The one scenario that really does appear to be coming into focus is the likelihood that within Id say 2 to 3 years or so... one of us will probably be dead," Skiba posted to Facebook to those getting vaccinated.
By Ed Scarce
Skiba was calling vaccine mandates the "mark of the beast" from Revelations way back in 2012. He thought COVID-19 vaccinations were dangerous, posting on Facebook, "To those who disagree with my position on our current situation... One of us is right, he wrote.
Rob Skiba made a really bad bet.

To those who disagree with my position on our current situation... One of us is right, he wrote. Unless YHWH miraculously intervenes, based on what Im seeing/hearing, the one scenario that really does appear to be coming into focus is the likelihood that within Id say 2 to 3 years or so... one of us will probably be dead. Truly, I take no joy in saying this, nor will I if I'm the one still standing.
His Facebook post.
The man truly was a prophet.

(3,316 posts)Sure glad he took the initiative and saved the rest of us!
So this guy is the center of a weird confluence of anti-science theories-- flat earth and anti-vax.
He has written several books on what would seem like the least fruitful topic ever-- that the earth is actually a disk. (Granted, the great late Terry Pratchett wrote a whole series based on that premise... only his were COMEDIES.)
Somehow he managed to get thousands of people (including now-antivaxxer NBA star Kyrie Irving) to believe what almost no one else has believed since, oh, Galileo? Columbus? Copernicus?
(see, that whole thing the rest of us call "the galaxy" is just a BOWL painted with stars and a sun and moon on a string... I might have some of the nuances wrong, but I think that's the basics.)

(58,785 posts)Take the RW political mindfuckers away and you'd still have his kind.
Regarding that lake of fire, I wonder if he had any moments of worry about where he was headed before the light was turned out on Sept 8. There's apparently no consciousness or cognition under that kind of sedation, and I certainly hope so.

(5,727 posts)I like Sorry because they document the assorted media posts of the antivaxxers in question. It's slowed down to about one entry a day, which is a good sign (I guess) but still going, despite some backlash over the gleeful responses in the comments.

(8,347 posts)Like a vaccine, or masks and distancing, but no, we just have to learn to live with this sad loss of life until we find some way to retard the spread of this virus that has killed over 725000 of our countrymen/women
I hope they find a solution soon.
Sarcasm thingy added.

Now, it's news.
