Failure to respond to a Congressional Subpoena isn't that kind of situation. The objective is to deliver the subject to Congress, not to prosecute them.

Sadly, I think it's more complex than that. Once the Ag starts to act on it, unless expedited in every way at all levels, it will possibly be never. Once the action gets rolling, the asshole will appeal until the cows come home. He needs to be out of the real of influence, though. His mouth is dangerous and he has a podcast among other outlets.

Or is that just a step to try and get bi-partisan support?

Although, I did read that it would go to the full House for a vote after the Committee votes Tuesday night. Then delivered to the US Attorney for a decision. (We would assume he would consult with Merrick Garland before making a decision to send to the Grand Jury?)

The evidence shows that the traitorous co-conspirator refuses to obey a legally issued subpoena by the U.S. Congress, which is a criminal offence define in the U.S. Criminal Code.

No way there will be more than half of Grand-Jurors that are deplorables.

Here's an excellent summary of the legal issues by Elie Mystal at The Nation, explaining why inherent contempt is the way to go. It's a much quicker process and not likely to be bogged down by appeals, as with criminal charges.

Who will actually arrest Bannon? What jail will Bannon be held in? Will the House ask DC permission to use one of its cells or will Bannon be jailed in some room in the Capitol. The optics of this will of course be exploited by the MSM.

There is no easy answer to this but it should have been taken up months ago.

as the article proclaims. Doing inherent contempt could end up making Bannon into a martyr. Who arrests Bannon and where does this happen? Where is he held in jail? He still has appeal rights with inherent contempt.

No, IMO, the solution is to get our DOJ involved. Why should DOJ need a referral from Congress to do investigations? The DOJ has way more clout than a select committee, a person cannot refuse to appear before a grand jury.

I have little faith in our DOJ seeing as how they allowed Cyber Ninjas to do a fraudit in Arizona.

Susan McDougal did 18 months for criminal contempt for refusing to testify before the Whitewater probe, she was also convicted or plead to some crime related to her whitewater dealings.

Bannon and the rest should be cited. Hold them to testify. Once one does hold their feet to the fire they can only "take the fifth" for their own actions they have to answer about everyone else.

During any testimony plant words by stating clearly what they are implicantly not denying by takin the right against self incrimination.

They can claim "witch hunt" but if they don't testify we get to make the story.
