(17,651 posts)I'm not great at this letter writing thing, never was, but do try to express my concerns as best I can. Here's what I wrote on 10/19:
To voting.section@usdoj.gov, washington.field@ic.fbi.gov
To Whom This May Concern:
I have a concern regarding the integrity of our Right to Vote. I am one of many who suspect that there are efforts to suppress the vote occurring in this election in addition to a very real threat of election theft.
It has been brought to my attention that a partisan interest has once again attempted to insert itself into our democratic process by attempting to corrupt the method American people use to elect their officials, the Presidency in this case but I have no doubt it can affect all levels of government.
The son of the Republican Presidential candidate, Tagg Romney, through his investment company, has purchased voting machines located in the State of Ohio. I and many other Americans think that there is a strong case for a conflict of interest and an investigation is needed.
http://www.politicolnews.com/tagg-romney-invested-in-ohio-electronic-voting-machines/
Here is an excerpt of the article:
"As Lee Fang points out in his detailed analysis of the Romney investments
Many of these private equityowned companies rely on federal and
state contracts, from HIG Capitals Hart Intercivic, a voting machine
company, to EnviroFoam Technologies, a biological and chemical
decontamination firm that does business with the US military and is
owned by Peterson Partners, a private equity firm listed in the Solamere
prospectus.
Solarmeres tangled web of investments now includes Hart Intercivic
voting machines which will be used in Cincinnati Ohio says Truth Out
which could guarantee Mitt Romney the White House.
The State of Ohio is Ground Zero for the White House, in particular Hamilton County a repeat of the George Bush election in 2004"."
Needless to say that The American People have long suspected that the integrity of our democracy has been under attack for decades but recently the safety of our democratic process and the effort to destroy our election process is approaching a critical level; when there are blatant example of voter suppression, voter intimidation, false charges of voter fraud, obvious poll manipulation activities and the partisan contamination of the very machines Americans use to elect their representatives has not been treated as the serious threat it is during recent elections, including the Presidential Election.
Taggart Romney's recent activity should have caused an immediate Red Flag of concern.
I am doing my part to raise a Red Flag and hope that other Americans do the same.
Sincerely,
L.B.
Confirmation of receipt, also dated 10/19:
If you are seeking to make a new submission of a voting change for
administrative review by the Attorney General, information sent to this
address will not initiate the statutory 60-day review period. Please go
to the Voting Section's homepage <http://www.justice.gov/crt/about/vot>
for further information.
Here's hoping I didn't screw it up too badly.
