With Gaetz and Jordan showing up to try and disrupt the hearing, Rep. Torres throws greatest shade ever at them: “This is not about somebody paying to have sex with a young girl, or somebody not protecting people that are under their jurisdiction. This is about our democracy.”

It was not the 1/6 committee. It was on the rule to hold Bannon in contempt of Congress

But you have to do it every time. Of course there are some Republicans who want to turn the investigation into the failed insurrection into a circus. There is something they'd rather not be made public in the events of that day and leading up to it. Clowning is their tiresome way of trying to make their little buddies' failure seem unimportant, like violently overthrowing the government ain't no thang.

More Dems need to dish it out like this, maybe then clowns like Gaetz will learn that there'll be consequences the next time he makes another stupid stunt.
Next escalation step is naming them. Let everyone know what they did.

Ridicule. Make sure to laugh whenever possible. (I kind of hope that we get into the habit of laughing ad nauseum whenever one of the idiots opens their mouths, but I will take making sure at least someone does it.)

And make it clear to at least a few of their “supporters” that they were publicly called out for their sins against the people and were completely incapable of defending themselves from the attack.

I said “a few” because, obviously, most of their voters don’t listen to these exposes and wouldn’t care if they did.

Apparently there’s lots of people in Ohio who think a wrestling coach has a perfect right to pleasure himself watching his boss molest a student in the shower, and in Florida lot’s of folks who think statutory rape is a fun act they would like to try, themselves, some day.

Every hearing. Every statement. Every TV appearance

Every single time there's a chance, call the assholes out and shun them.

Treat them with the contempt and disrespect they deserve, and have earned.
