WA GOP State Rep. Jim Walsh discovered that his key card has been deactivated, and he has been locked out of the Capitol and office complex for failure to provide proof of vaccination this week.

(18,656 posts)In 2021, Walsh wore a yellow Star of David (the symbol that Nazis forced Jews to wear during the Holocaust), likening individuals who refuse to vaccinate against COVID-19 to the Jews in Nazi Germany. Walsh said, "In the current context, were all Jews." The Seattle-based Holocaust Center for Humanity said that Walsh trivialized the Holocaust and distorted history.[6]
In August 2021, Walsh and four other state Republican lawmakers held an unofficial hearing with the aim of possibly calling for a "forensic audit" to take place in Washington State similar to the criticized Arizona audit. The group that organized the event also invited figures that have falsely claimed there was voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.[7]

Being a normal member of a society is not that complicated unless you are a jackass.

(19,204 posts)Just another republican snowflake who believes rules don't apply to him. The TFG disease has completely taken over his brain, what little of it existed in the first place.

(792 posts)I will say that Washington has its act together. We likely won't have to ever worry about the gqp there ever again since they won't follow the rules well enough to even be able to participate.

(14,855 posts)By the way, making a new key card for a hotel room was one of the ways we'd get the attention of a guest with unpaid bills... years ago when I worked at a hotel.
They'd come to the front desk to complain that their key cards didn't work anymore, and that's when we'd give them replacement cards while mentioning an unpaid balance or a credit card that was denied.
Assuming they couldn't be reached by phone or other means, of course.
Edit: We were instructed by the owner/GM to do that, of course. I always wondered if we'd ever encounter a parent who couldn't reach their choking child in the room or whatever. Then they'd threaten to sue the hotel into bankruptcy! (Or perhaps a grifter lying about such a situation, of course.)

(8,204 posts)I mean, I'm surprised he's publicizing his refusal to do his job--i.e., get vaccinated so he can access the capitol and his office--but I'll give him a few points for transparency.

(58,351 posts)tell black people "Don't want to get shot, then listen to the police (authorities)".
They love authoritarianism when they're making the rules, but they melt into sad little snowflake fucks as soon as someone applies the rules to them.
I can't imagine going through life being that much of a fucking child.

He is the very epitome of GOP philosophy without a clue how to carry that off with any style at all...Imagine...
