Marine Corps announces career-ending consequences for Marines refusing to get COVID vaccine

https://taskandpurpose.com/news/marine-corps-covid-vaccine-refuse-consequences/

The Marine Corps’ list of consequences for Marines who fail to get vaccinated for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a reminder that USMC stands for “You Signed the Motherf—king Contract!”

Active-duty Marines have to get vaccinated by Nov. 28 and Reserve Marines must be immunized by Dec. 28, according to Marine Corps Administrative Message (MARADMIN) 612/21. For any Marines who think that these deadlines are no big deal, the MARADMIN is a rude awakening.

“Marines refusing the COVID-19 vaccination, absent an approved administrative or medical exemption, religious accommodation, or pending appeal shall be processed for administrative separation IAW (in accordance with) this MARADMIN and supporting references,” the MARADMIN says. “General Court-Martial Convening Authorities (GCMCA) retain authority to take any additional adverse administrative or disciplinary action they deem appropriate.”

According to the message, the severe consequences are because Marines who are not vaccinated by the deadlines and do not have an exemption approved or pending will have “willfully disobeyed a lawful order from a superior commissioned officer.”

As such, any Marines who refuse to get vaccinated will not deploy; they will not be allowed to reenlist; and they will not be promoted, in addition to being involuntarily separated, the MARADMIN says.

Call a formation, march them into the day room and immunize them. No questions asked.

Black Plague, Yellow Fever, Typhus, Typhoid, Polio, etc, etc, etc, etc.
We apparently needed them for all the foreign travel to exotic places and unfriendly locals.

Nobody asked me nice. And "adverse reactions". Nobody gave a shit...

I thought that was the whole idea of the military. People take orders. If you don't want to or can't take orders GTFO!

maybe just like how some people drafted during war could get assigned to non-combat roles but a person that made the decision to volunteer? Not really as everything they are expected to do I assume when a member of the military is explained to them beforehand and the time to decide they cannot follow orders is before they take that oath.

Didn't the armed services issue proof of vaccination "shot cards" back then? Makes the unvaxxed argument of "providing proof" such a hypocritical argument. I know the military tracks vaccine status online now.

When Mrs Best went through USAF Basic, she got all the aforementioned vaccines. She told me after she got the Covid vaccine that the Typhoid vaccine she received in Basic kicked her ass far worse than the Covid shots did.

As for the Marines who are refusing the Covid vaccine, to quote GySgt Hartman from Full Metal Jacket "Your heart may belong to Jesus, but you ASS belongs to the Corps."

The USAF repeated every childhood vaccine I ever had and then added on plenty more. When they assigned me to a remote base in Turkey, I lined up for even more shots. Those included typhoid, typhus, cholera, and even an experimental two-shot plague vaccine. All given at the same time.

I did get a day off from the side effects of the second plague shot. I was joined in that day off by at least half of my barracks. It made us sick as the dickens.

We weren't asked. We didn't get to opt out. We lined up and got the vaccines. No options of any kind.

... maybe because the Corpsmen drilled into us that if we lost it, we'd have to re-do all the shots. And the "ass belongs to the Corps" was there long before FMJ.

Somehow, just saying the word "good" didn't feel like enough!

I applaud this decision and hope all branches of the military will do the same, if they aren't already. That is all.

by making it narrow and requiring reasonable proof - not the fake claims so many are getting away with in some places.

This is a huge loophole that needs to be closed. Even healthcare workers are opting out with this. Locally there is a little-known church that people are suddenly claiming membership in because it opposes these vaccines.

You should have to provide a letter from your spiritual institution's leader and it should affirm how long you have been a member. If you only joined right after the vaccine mandate, that shouldn't be accepted.
