Typical lies coming from Mitt, a man who would be one of those rich Americans paying higher taxes.
By John Amato
Republican freakouts over taxes is nothing new since they've been doing it since 1980, but what is new are the ridiculous claims they make to try and screw the working class of this country.
Romney immediately lied on Bret Baier's Fox News show when he said the Build Back Better Democratic legislation was not popular with the American people.
It certainly is. Especially taxing the very wealthy, of which Mitt Romney is a member. But his lies didn't stop there.

Hey Mittens remember when you were groveling to be hired by that POS traitor who should be in jail as we speak....
Also Mittens, two items... let's compare my tax rate to yours.....I bet you win all the time......
Second ever read Mother Jones November/ December 2021 issue there is an article in the magazine called "Geography Class" by Mark Murrman its about Photographer Matt Black's Epic work of "critical cartography" its kind of like a snap shot of pictures and a reporting of the poverty rate being around 20% in the country.
You also got 4 deferments during the Vietnam War, did you know this factoid, that more 40 young men from Porterville, California died in Vietnam War, while you were going to Stanford with that silver spoon in your mouth deferments .....

(2,868 posts)acts as if we can't tax the increased value of art.
And if they claim it's not worth that much, then as Senator Warren has asked, so you would sell it for the lower amount?

(3,503 posts)"Using the Freedom of Information Act, Bloomberg smartly requested the tax returns of a charitable trust set up by Romney in 1996, which have never been publicly released. (The trust is separate from both the Romneys family trust and foundation.) The documents reportedly show that Romney used a loophole to essentially rent the tax-exempt status of a nonprofitin this case, that of the Mormon churchto lower his tax rate while not actually giving much money to the charity itself."
"Setting up the trust, worth between $750,000 and $1.25 million in 2001, enabled Romney to take an upfront deduction for his charitable donation to the trust, while also earning annual payments worth 8 percent of the trusts assets. Unlike much of his own portfolio, Romneys charitable trust investments have been very conservative. (Its now just all cash.) As a result, according to Bloomberg, the trust earned only $48 last year, while paying out nearly $37,000 to the Romneys. Meanwhile, the principal, which goes to the charity upon Romneys death, has been dwindling as a result of those payouts, down to $421,000 in 2011."

(5,275 posts)Dont recall such a run on art during the years from just after WWll till Reagan when the top tax rates were multiple times higher than whats proposed now.
Republicans are betting most people old enough dont remember and younger ones slept during school. Pretty good bet or so it seems.
