In mid-May, a half year after experts started recommending and then begging tRump to put the power of the government behind vaccine development, he finally announced his program with the stupid name. Vaccines were already being developed around the planet. To that point he'd been dragging his feet and actively obstructing Covid containment and treatment efforts.
That was during the first huge surge. With 100,000 dead, ICUs swamped, and 200,000 dead projected by election day, deaths all through the holiday season resuilting in a projected 250,000 some time after New Year's, he finally realized it was about HIM.
