For some a dystopian state is already a reality

I'm talking about the poll workers, teachers, school officials and medical professionals that are getting threats of violence for just doing their jobs.

How awful it must be to live in a state where threats of violence are becoming commonplace for certain people. How are these people supposed to have pursuit of happiness? They are literally living in a dystopian state right here in America.

I don't think it's over dramatic of me to think of that poem by Martin Niemoller where he says: "First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out..."

This is how it starts. When we allow people to be threatened, we are allowing control of those people by terroristic means.

I am so pissed about these threats it's making me sick.

Posted an article about the harassment and death threats against poll workers during the last election. All they are doing is counting the votes, and they are being threatened with death and violence by Trump’s goons. In almost every case, they reported these threats to the police and nothing was done. One woman said that the police even found the guy who had called her with death threats but said there was nothing they could do because he has “freedom of political speech!” How is this acceptable in a sane society?!

It is not supposed to be acceptable here in this country. The 1st amendment does not protect threats, plain and simple! These people are going against the Constitution and the republicans are allowing it to happen.
