Thanks to Covid, I voted for a dead man

Less than 10 days ago, our local VFD chief died of Covid. I went to early vote yesterday and he was on the ballot. He had also been a township trustee and was up for re-election. I knew he was dead, but decided to honor vote him.

I recoiled when I saw his name. A poll worker was there, and I said, "Oh no, is he the one who--passed away?" And she said, "Probably." The machine didn't care either.

My husband's uncle early voted, and died on election day. I always kind of wondered if his vote counted.
