Why is TFG going to a World Series game in Atlanta??

Former President Donald Trump is expected to attend a World Series game in metro Atlanta this weekend, potentially bringing his ongoing feud with Major League Baseball to Truist Park in the midst of the team’s first appearance in the championship round in decades.

Braves chief executive Terry McGuirk told USA Today that Trump called the league to request tickets to attend Saturday’s game against the Houston Astros.

”We were very surprised. Of course, we said yes,” he told USA Today, adding: “We are apolitical. We’re open to anyone coming. It’s great that he wants to come to our game.”

and has attacked a member of the family who own the Cleveland Guardians and is running for the GOP Ohio senatorial nomination:

Former President Trump took a shot at Ohio state Sen. Matt Dolan (R) on Monday — hours after he entered the race for the state’s open Senate seat — over the recent name change to Cleveland’s baseball team, which is owned by his father.

“Anybody that changes the name of the once storied Cleveland Indians to the Cleveland Guardians should not be running for the United States Senate representing the Great People of Ohio,” Trump wrote in a statement sent by the Save America PAC.

The former president wrote that the Atlanta Braves — another MLB team — and the Florida State Seminoles — a college university mascot — have not changed their monikers, yet Cleveland decided to do so over concerns of sensitivity regarding Native Americans.

“Despite this, a man named Matt Dolan, the son of the owner of the team, said he is against Cancel Culture. Do those two things really work together?” Trump wrote.

(Of course, the Cleveland name change is not "cancel culture" in any definition - they cancelled no one and nothing. They changed a name of something they own. But Trump is too dumb to think that through, and his followers as well.)

All as a not-so-transparent effort to appeal to a mostly-white fan base. There's not even a public transportation link from the stadium to the city, which seemed by design.

I used to like the Braves, but that move really soured me on the team.

The only team further away is the Tampa Bay Rays, and that assumes Tampa as the home city, even though they play pretty close to the center of St. Pete, which is a fairly sizeable urban city of its own.

The next two teams--Yankees and Mets--still play in highly urbanized environments within their city.

me being one. As you know they did a big marketing survey to see where most of their fans are and it turns our it is Cobb County. I-285 and I-75 is the worst spot for traffic in Atlanta. I live in Gwinnett and I'll be damned if I am going across 285 to see a ballgame. There were plenty of ways to get to Turner field not so with Truist park. Face it Baseball players and the owners are the most republican of all sports. Fans are tied between Football and baseball as the most republican. He will be cheered at Truist. Glavine is going to Mar-a lago to support Herschel Walker and Smoltz is antivax.
