I have no problem with Bernie attempting to somehow get their support for this during the final hours of horse trading etc. Bernie is not going to include any poison pill provision in the House that would kill the bill in the Senate, but he is working the issue until the last possible minute on behalf of the American people who strongly support this provision. I am more than fine with that.

(6,829 posts)Other than standard Bernie hatred what leads you to believe he's working to "get nothing" by taking this shot at getting negotiated drug pricing?

(68,586 posts)Society legislation. I never thought I would see such a thing in my lifetime-really excited. I am pissed about the infrastructure bill as it would have helped us with Virginia if it passed before the election. It should have been voted on Thursday. Hopefully, McCauliffe still wins. I believe he will.

(68,586 posts)if this bill makes it over to the Senate with this provision...it is DOA. I don't think Sen. Sanders would do this. And just to be clear, there have been times when Sen. Sanders made me so mad I wanted to spit, but I don't hate him. He is an important member of the Democratic caucus.

(58,785 posts)business issues and also taking significant drug industry contributions. Pelosi won't stop trying to the bitter end, and I'd be thrilled if Sanders and those he's working with in the sentate got anything back in the bill. But if this is just a little weekend grandstanding, at least it puts the issue up front a bit and presumably costs us nothing. So, go, Senator Sanders.
For over 30 years the Democratic Party has tried -- especially during every administration with a Democratic president to sign it -- to pass various forms of drug price controls.
We need more liberal Democrats in congress. Bottom line. And we all know when our next chance to make that happen is.
