"SNIP.....

“Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) will call for Republicans to break up with Big Business when he addresses the National Conservatism Conference on Monday,” Axios reports

“Rubio is seeking re-election in one of the most high-profile and expensive races of the 2022 cycle. He’s using this speech to differentiate himself from traditional economic conservatism by branding himself as a leading proponent of the working class.”

......SNIP"

Rubio is the crown prince. GOP has been protecting him since Trump was elected. They let him do anything. Big Business with a wink and nod will go along. Val Demmings is a threat to them.

Just another Republican bullshitter. One who spends a few months every 6 years pretending he is the voice of the people.

So it's not at all surprising to hear Rubio spouting this rhetoric. Big business may support the GOP, but they won't be best buddies anymore. What the GOP wants now is political control for power's sake alone. To follow a Trumpian leader down a rabbit hole.

12. Rubio is using "working class" to mean all those "economic anxiety" suffering conservative voters.

You know, racists white people who voted for Trump but the media all too often portrayed as just plain folk, those "real" Americans, worried about their place in society - you know, because some immigrant took their job and the "elites" are out to get them and "socialists" are conspiring to make being white a crime.

Rubio is appealing to Trump voters by pandering to people he wouldn't allow in his house. Just like Trump did.

He will happily take corporate dollars, sit on their boards, and vote in their favor.

He says his family fled an authoritarian country for the US but even as a Senator, his silence with all the goings on with his party, he doesn’t speak up. Spineless comes to mind.

Marco Rubio voted 98 percent of the time with Koch brothers

It turns out the 98 percent figure comes from a scorecard from Americans for Prosperity, a Koch-backed political group.
...
The Koch brothers have ties to Rubio as he pursued the Republican presidential nomination and senatorial race. In February, when Rubio was running for president, the Kochs’ top political advisor, Marc Short, joined his campaign as a senior adviser. Later in July, after Rubio dropped out of the presidential race and slid into the Senate race, the Koch Brothers hinted at throwing support behind Marco Rubio, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
...
The number of votes AFP analyzes depends on the issues that were brought up while the Senate was in session. For example, in the 2013-14 session, AFP looked at 20 Senate votes and in 2011-12 session AFP looked at 35.

Rubio has a lifetime score of 98 percent since taking office in 2011. (For comparison, Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson has a lifetime score of 5 percent.)

Look for Rubio to redefine the Koch empire as "a small family-run business of just the kind that needs help against the Woke Globalists".
