The biggest 'tell' that Trump-humpers are a cult is the fact the so-called Christians among them have abandoned their former belief in God and replaced it with their belief in Trump.
Apparently I am the Lord thy God, and thou shalt not put other gods before me has been downgraded from a Commandment to a mere serving suggestion.
What would Jesus do? has been replaced with What would Donald do? - and popular belief among evangelicals is that Jesus was obviously insane when he preached about sheltering the homeless, feeding the hungry, and doing unto others as we would have done to ourselves.
There are many who are guilty of subverting democracy in the name of Trump - but none so guilty as those "Christian leaders" who encouraged their followers to abandon their faith.
While "Christian leaders" encourage their flock to despise the teaching of The Nazarene, one can only wonder what they were promised in return for doing so.

(31,028 posts)Maybe the promise of Trump is eternal hatred and anger. I think the fact that they are getting so little in return only makes them fight harder for their side. In their minds they couldnt have been that wrong

(2,574 posts)They worship him, just like the fascists in 1930's in Germany worshiped Hitler. Their credo is "Trump is the lord your god, and you shall have no other gods before him".
