(Simple question for VA are you for medical science and stopping the Corona virus or are you stupid?)
In Virginia, 6,052,433 people or 70% of the state has received at least one dose. (Lots of smart people aka blue voters in VA)
Overall, 5,372,576 people or 62% of Virginia's population has been fully vaccinated. (Lots of smart people aka blue voters in VA)
The media is pushing crap about Trump's "base" turning out in 2021 in VA to me @ least seems kind of dumb. Trump got
his ass kicked in VA in '16 & '20.
The Democratic Party candidate, Hillary Clinton of New York, carried Virginia with a 49.73% plurality in the popular vote against businessman Donald Trump of New York, who carried 44.41%, a victory margin of 5.32%. (wiki)
Joe Biden 2,413,568 54.11 Donald Trump 1,962,430 44.00 (wiki)
BTW VA around Woodstock, VA is very red, racist, Trump loving, Christian Evangelical/Taliban, and gun loving.
* I might be wrong.

(57,484 posts)I voted on Saturday. I couldn't get a read on the people standing in line, other than, everyone while I was there was willing to wait for over an hour to cast a vote.
I expect there's dedication on both sides.

(47,496 posts)Such people don't strike me as the type who would be consistent, reliable voters. I can picture them storming the Capital and often throwing violent tantrums in stores and airplanes, but making it to the polls every election just doesn't quite match up with their personality type. Yet most of them appear to do it like clockwork.

(12,274 posts)With Newsom, he had to reach the 50.1% mark and if he didn't fucked up Elder's would be governor. Therefore, corporated media and their polling outfits continued to show that in fact Newsom could not reach that % even tho the mail in ballots said otherwise.

If our Virginian, Democratic brethren hit the polls in a wave, McAuliffe wins. The Dems go in with a clear early vote advantage but they need that Tuesday vote to seal the deal.
We're going to know very soon.
Every Dem in VA should be grabbing friends, family, neighbors, etc. then running to the polls tomorrow.
Youngkin is merely a cleaned up version of Donald Trump. May look and sound a tad better on the outside.
On the inside? Same rotten core.
Remember, Youngkin said he was HONORED to be endorsed by Donald Trump, the man who tried desperately to bring down the government of the United States of America.
That alone should disqualify him.
Vote. Vote. Vote.

(45,488 posts)This is not an everyday campaign dispute. We might disagree with Mr. Youngkin on Medicaid expansion, say he termed it sad, though it extended health insurance to hundreds of thousands of Virginians who lacked it without arguing that his stance is disqualifying. But at a moment when democracy itself is under assault, Mr. Youngkin chose to dignify a fundamental fiction that is subverting our system, rather than stand up squarely for the truth. In so doing, he proved himself unfit for office.

The only poll that matters is the vote on election day.

(10,434 posts)that not only is the media selling the usual "horse race", but that type of reporting can hide cheating and provide cover for stealing.
If a race is reported as the wipeout it should be, it's harder for republicons to steal unnoticed.

I get dressed, I go to the polls, lots of people are there, it's exciting.
Not anymore. What if I fall and break my hip and can't get to the polls, and the election is determined by one vote???????
I made sure to vote on Saturday. Not taking any chances.
I didn't miss out on the group activity either. I'll find some pictures if I can.

Nearly three-quarters of a million Virginians have voted ahead of the closely watched race between former Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) and former Carlyle Group chief executive Glenn Youngkin (R), a contest that will provide a critical read on the political mood ahead of next years midterm elections.
