One Republican-led state has given schools an incentive to get child vaccination rates up quickly

he administration of Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker recently extended his state’s school mask mandate through at least Jan. 15, 2022. But schools have the option to abandon face coverings if at least 80 percent of all students and staff get vaccinated. Officials elsewhere in the country are establishing their own protocols for easing up on masks, too.

Seems to be able to get from A to B in a straight line pretty regularly. Phil Scott, in VT, even more so.

Sadly, I live in NH, where Chris Sunnunu is repenting for his (good) COVID response, by trying to turn NH into North Texas.

I wish we had rules like that here in NJ.

My town has been at about 80%+ for months. We originally had voted (Board of Education with parents present and superintendent) for a mask optional go back policy because of the high vaccination and low transmission rates in our area. Then, our governor hit us with a state-wide mandate.

Unfortunately, we have to abide by the rules overall in this state. And due to other regions, have been perpetually forced to deal with mandates, etc. because other areas of the state (for example Newark and Trenton - much more populous areas with much lower rates)

We have 80% for 12 and over. 85% ages 30 and over, and somehow show 101% for ages 65 and over.
