Hawley Accuses Democrats of Attacking Masculinity

"SNIP.....

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) “decried what he characterized as Democrats’ prolonged attack on traditional masculinity, using it to make an argument for restructuring the economy in a way that would help men thrive,” the Kansas City Star reports.

Said Hawley: “The Left want to define traditional masculinity as toxic. They want to define the traditional masculine virtues — things like courage, and independence, and assertiveness — as a danger to society.”

.....SNIP"

Wedge issue: they are going for the working class and Latino vote (Rubio for President). They need a whole slate of new wedge issues. Men feel less powerful because of 40 years of republicans' war on unions and other things. Get them voting on their anger and they will not notice Republicans have no policies to help them or their families.

They were juicy.

Fyi-Lexington is a very small town, most well known for being directly on the Missouri River, a Civil War battle and a now closed military academy. That's it. The cannonball in the courthouse pillar is the big drawing point.

I live in Missouri. The odd comments about masculinity makes it feel as though he's covering up. In the rural areas he'd be called a "pretty boy" who obviously has never actually worked a farm or manual labor.

It's crazy how they're falling for it.

Yet they revere him as a manly man. Maybe all you need to be considered strong and manly by the base is to be mean and insulting and punch down every chance you get, and then you can use your tiny, soft hands to apply all the makeup and hair dye you want.

for a strong, masculine male, but even the schoolyard bully didn't wear makeup or dye his hair. Trump is quite the antithesis of every manly man stereotype. I still cannot imagine what these clowns see when they look at Trump.

"traditional masculinity" as viewed through the behavior of RW fundamentalist AmerkinTaliban crazies spouting misogynistic BS as well. This is no better than TFG's locker room talk and SCOTUS Kavanaugh's defiant stereotypical "I like lots of beer (and have no respect for women or those that covertly would prefer injurious deceit upon those unlike himself? that are traditionally thought of as "whining women,&quot , both lapped up as manly, undisciplined, and acceptable "traditional (elite white) macho (forgive the Latinx adjective) boys will be boys s*&t.

To stand with the likes of GOP perps with twisted ideologies of courage, independence, and assertiveness whereby one stands with courageous? voter suppression while whining over losing election results, freedumb to express CTs for worse than anti-social manipulative recruitment across media, and assertiveness as a stand-in for actual violent and organized incited insurrection on 1/6 - Please spoiled, childish, coward, disruptive Hawley - just STFU and go away...you represent everything evil in the definition of human's need for American political community and equally complicit among its most sordid humans that despise losing their lucrative grip on power and control...in short, Hawley is no gentleman and doesn't meet the smell test of a statesman...SMH

... and the traditionally masculine males are increasingly upset as more and more people recognize this.

They don't like it when women tell them to fuck off and their concerned but increasingly distant male friends start asking, "Dude, what the fuck is wrong with you?"
