With 30 days left of hurricane season, Wanda snags last name on storm list
With 30 days remaining in the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season, Subtropical Storm Wanda snagged the last name on this year's hurricane list.
Wanda formed Saturday in the central Atlantic, becoming the 21st named storm of this year's hurricane season.
At 5 a.m. Monday, Wanda was located about 970 miles west of the Azores, or 2,425 east of Daytona Beach. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph, with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next few days.
However, Wanda may become a tropical storm on Tuesday.
