Go USA. I would hazzard to say De Santis and Abbott got people to follow their 'science experiments' and it got more people to get the shot.

(65,076 posts)But, Our World In Data uses the whole population as the denominator, and has the whole time.
So, the addition of more eligible people doesn't change their results.
Yesterday, they had us at 58.4% completely vaxxed & 67.2% "at least one shot".
Having good, thinking parents getting 5-11 year olds vaxxed will help their number, because of the constant point of reference.

This CNN number uses ELIGIBLE people as the denominator. Most tracking processes use the total population. So, this isn't 70% of 330,000,000. It's 70% of those 12 & up.
For instance, my county is at 56% full vaxxed, but out of the entire population of around 690,000, or about 386,000.
But, here about 100,000 residents are under age 12. They're not eligible for the vax yet.
So, if we take 386,000 divided by 590k, instead of 690k, we get 65.4%. Still not 70% fully vaxxed, but way better than 56%.
Might be the case in your county, too.
