Jewish Telegraphic Agency(JTA) Former President Donald Trump told a conservative Jewish radio host that Israel until recently literally owned Congress, a claim similar to those that have triggered accusations of antisemitism against other politicians.
The comments came during Trumps Oct. 29 interview with Seattle-based talk show host Ari Hoffman as Trump was reviewing his Middle East policies, including the Abraham Accords, the normalization agreements between Israel and four Arab countries, and his pullout from the Iran nuclear deal.
Trump, as he discussed U.S. policy in the region, pivoted to what he believed was the biggest change he had seen recently.
The biggest change Ive seen in Congress is Israel literally owned Congress you understand that. Ten years ago, 15 years ago, and it was so powerful, it was so powerful and today its almost the opposite, Trump said.

(82,849 posts)1. "Israel literally owned Congress - you understand that."
Will we hear anything at all about this in the popular media?

Should they "discuss" it as if it were real? Or expose it for the anti-Semitic bullshit it is?
Behind the Aegis
(53,975 posts)3. Pure anti-Semitism.
It is just a variation of "Jews control everything." I have found many an anti-Semite likes to use Israel as the "stand-in" for "the Jew" in many a scenario, including the use of Nazi imagery, misuse of the Holocaust, and reviving ancient blood libels. I am sure there are those who believe this shit, and not all of them are right-wing nutjobs. I am also sure there are those who will defend this and/or claim it isn't anti-Semitism.
Then again, what is even the point of confronting it, anti-Semitism is wrong, except when it is not, apparently.
