New Romnian Strategy: Take Future Credit for What Your Opponent Has Done In the Past (CHINA)

The Obama administration has been very successful in getting China to reform it's currency manipulation. The Obama administration doesn't talk about this much, but this has been a big part of their economic strategy for recovery. In the past, China kept their currency fixed against the dollar, such that it was always cheaper for 3rd party countries to buy Chinese services over American services. Here is the ratio of the Chinese dollar vs. the USD over the last 4 years:

In 2010, China agreed to relax their fixed float against the USD and it started to ease. Of course, more needs to be done, and there are plans to do so as part of a larger trade negotiation with China. But what Romney is saying about getting tough on China as a currency manipulator is already being done by this Administration.

I hope that Obama points his Administrations accomplishments in this area tonight. What Obama has been able to do with China is actually a significant and historic accomplishment.
