I got my Moderna booster Tuesday morning and did not even get a sore arm from it.
I just woke up now, Thursday morning 4 a.m., with severe lower back pain so bad I can hardly move. I have done nothing that might have caused it.
Has anyone had something similar after getting their COVID booster shot?

(8,445 posts)Make sure you're hydrating.
It could be a kidney stone.

(34,195 posts)I would think that would cause pain on one side where the stone is and the pain I am having goes all across my lower back.
Fortunately I happen to have a video appointment with my primary care physician scheduled for tomorrow so if it continues maybe he can prescribed a muscle relaxer.

(23,105 posts)Yours sounds like bad muscle problems, but maybe it's time to see a dr. & hopefully get some relief?

(34,195 posts)It's a common side effect to the Moderna booster I had a couple days ago.
However, I do have a video appointment today with my primary care doctor.

(589 posts)I had the same thing the next day...I thought it was from the way I slept, as that happens with my back once in a while...but it COULD be from the booster. I got the Moderna one, myself. My only other issue was a sore arm.

(11,795 posts)I got my Pfizer booster and felt like dog doo. I had COVID in July, which may have caused such awful side effects (very swollen armpit lymph nodes and fever). I'm mostly back to normal now, three days later.
Hope your back heals up quickly!

(44,973 posts)I didn't have muscle pain (other than injection site), but I had fever for two days (started the next day after the booster) and a Moderna arm (lasted a week).
