Lettuce Recalled In PA Due To Listeria Risk: FDA
Health officials are citing a possible health risk in some garden salads from Listeria monocytogenes.
Justin Heinze, Patch Staff, Posted Thu, Nov 4, 2021 at 10:39 am ET
PENNSYLVANIA Pennsylvania is one of 10 states where several packages of Dole lettuce sold at Kroger, Walmart and other grocery chains are being recalled. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says the packages may be contaminated with listeria.
Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a limited number of cases of garden salad due to a possible health risk from Listeria monocytogenes.
No illnesses connected to any of the recalled lot codes have been reported so far. Customers should throw out any of the recalled product, the FDA said.
The recalled lettuce was distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.
All 12 and 25 oz dole salads dated to be used by 10/25. But the one that made my stomach upset was dated later and a different size.....Not sure if it's to blame, or not.

Listeriosis isn't an upset stomach, it's far more severe: "Symptoms can include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions.[
]Seizures occur in at least 25% of patients.[
]Overall mortality rate is 2030%; of all pregnancy-related cases, 22% resulted in fetal loss or neonatal death, but mothers usually survive."
That said, WASH YOUR DANG GREENS!
