Well, that's a nice little development.
Maybe we can get an indictment on someone named Trump, eh?

But what do I know. Its just an assumption, like all of us.
Enjoy your day.

(4,393 posts)of debt guaranteed through our Treasury and a private central bank, for which we all pay and which are traded in other forms to the wealthy and corporate personhoods, and cyber money isn't "real" at all, a series of 0s and 1s, mined from the ether, offering junk for junk. When we stop corruption by investigation and hearings, we all gain. Perhaps we'll even hire somebodies to monitor the cracks their schemes slipped through in which they pay no taxes at all into the system, but I wouldn't hold my breath we can control the courage it takes to expose bribery and exploitation with consequences, hahaha.

No, that's not the Scripture exactly. I updated to make it applicable to today especially.

Yup, what else is there to do but move forward...
I'm a fan of the lessons learned from GoT:
1)Winter is coming! Prepare
2)All Men Must Die! and Pay Taxes: The Lanisters always pay their debts!
3)In a deadly spot: Stick 'em with the pointy end!
4)Die? NOT TODAY!

(15,325 posts)Clearly, this is how Trump has done business his entire life. That's BEFORE he ever ran for public office.
I think they'd just begin at the corrupt end of the spectrum & work their way back thru the maze of deals & maneuvers aligned with mob style corruption.
Thanks for this post.
The Manhattan DA has convened a SECOND, separate grand jury to hear evidence about Trump Orgs financial practices, & potentially to vote on more criminal charges, per WSJ.
This GJ is expected to examine how Donald Trumps company valued its assets, & more.

(1,910 posts)Legal experts said the only way Gaetz's wing man got such a killer deal was that he had already given prosecutors overwhelming evidence that they already corroborated. Yet all this time later, nothing. Seems to me the reason they hired 2 more prosecutors is because they have nothing to nail Gaetz on.
I doubt any of these guys ever faces indictment, certainly not the former guy.

I think Matt will be looking through bars eventually. Who knows there may be much bigger fish too.

(3,395 posts)we are getting to a point where lack of action is creating apathy in voter's minds, they have stopped believing in government, and because of the unfortunate characteristic of our fellow citizens to accept ignorance and not be attuned with what is really going on, the ignorant will vote for the evil bastards just like they did in Virginia.
People like the new elected Virginia governor lied his way to win the governorship, they have no shame and will lie to achieve their goals, and they will lie to work through their agenda, so if Democrats reduce themselves to talk and no action, republicans will prevail.
We have come to a place where we no longer believe that the so called "rule of law" and "no one is above the law" has any meaning, and unless accountability is enforced and those who have committed crimes, regardless of their economic status are made to pay, more people will adopt your attitude, and justifiably so.
But I do believe we not only need to change the script, but we need to write to Democratic leaders and demand actions be taken to change the narrative and the negative effect that the lack of accountability is having on the Democratic base.
To Adam Schiff...why is Bannon not behind bars for ignoring the subpoena?

(47,124 posts)We are up against a group of ruthless sociopaths disguised as a political party.
They are more like a crime syndicate and yes they lie, cheat, steal in their quest for power and money.
We have a large group of Americans who are willfully ignorant, turn a blind eye to the crime family because
their racist and white supremacist views are satisfied. Other folks just give up as you point out and lose all faith in government.
Which of course is one of the goals, to create helpless feelings in voters.
There is obviously no rule of law for the GOP crime syndicate. They act with impunity.
Right, the lack of response to this serious threat to our country, and our democracy is puzzling.
I think normal, decent and good people have a hard time wrapping their head around our new reality.
So perhaps it is denial and inability to formulate a plan.

(3,395 posts)But no, lets drag things even more, maybe until after 2024??? then we can have an excuse for not indicting a sitting president?
I keep saying it, things are going from bad to worst...The lack of turnout in Virginia should be a wake up call, but no, let Democrats continue sleeping, they need their rest...
Because I followed events in Venezuela during Chavez first years in the presidency, and even after Chavez, is why I am worried sick of what is happening here. It is as if Chavez had left a blueprint to republicans who also seem to be following every step as presented in that document, and Democrats not doing anything to fight it, which was the same in Venezuela, the opposition would be on TV declaring how illegal the actions of the government were, "they go against article 234-67 of the constitution and it must be invalidated"...blah, blah, blah, and the government just carrying on as if no one had complained. The Chavez people had an excuse, they were the majority, but here is the minority being proactive to break every rule and every law possible, to change the face of the constitution while Adam Schiff and other Democrats go on TV with blah, blah, blah while Bannon and others are on the floor at their houses grabbing their stomachs from laughing so hard about Democrats whining and lack of action.
This is NOT GOOD people...I don't know how we, the people, can let Democrats understand they need to fight hard, that we need to see actions because if not we can kiss the presidency, congress and senate goodbye, oh and let us not forget, we can kiss Democracy, imperfect or not, goodbye as well.
