And they are forcing votes to adjourn to do it.
They really dont want this to succeed. Must be bad for them if it does.
Manchin and Sinema better get in line and stop the nonsense.

(19,114 posts)This is the House, this passes the House and it doesn't go back to the Senate, it goes to the President's desk.

(15,325 posts)Manchin & Sinema own plenty of blame, but at least tell the truth about THIS HOUSE MATTER TODAY.
Neither have anything to do with HOUSE legislative decisions do they.

(11,068 posts)During the American Rescue debate, everyone got all outraged over Sinema's theatrics, which distracted from the fact that Manchin was working behind the scenes w/ Schumer nailing down the final bill. I'm not sure it was intentional, but I kinda think it did help get the bill through.

(2,959 posts)Manchin & Sinema have nothing to do with this vote, as they are in the Senate. This is a House vote.

(3,617 posts)What are they waiting for? It already failed.
I also want to know who started the motion to adjourn? This is a colossal time waster, and they know it. Democrats could call this vote at any time. (maybe they needed more time preparing the speakers for the upcoming 2 bills)
I did just hear that Pelosi is meeting with members now, so perhaps that is what is going on. If those meetings go badly with no resolution, we may not see those 2 bills get to the house.
We shall see I guess.

(92,403 posts)and if there is a deadlock, I am pretty sure the President makes the decision
Surely the Democrats will not agree to adjourning, so this will not happen
I suspect the good economic news is upsetting the republicans, which is why they are playing this game

(15,325 posts)Btw, the good economic #s are the Revised #s.
The media spun the unrevised #s until VA election was over.
Now they suddenly report the Revised #s. 🙄

(1,584 posts)Can we now stop referring to it as bipartisan?
Its more accurate to call it the unicameral infrastructure bill, because it was written and negotiated entirely in the Senate.
JohnSJ
(92,403 posts)was passed in the Senate with some republican votes
Until that vote occurs, I don't think we can say that.
I actually think there will be a few republicans in House who will vote for the bipartisan bill from the Senate.
On the BB bill, I don't think any republicans will vote for that in the House and Senate
