one thing that always gets me about the right-wingers complaining about being called racist,

or objecting to their group or policies being call racist, or objecting to "critical race theory" and calling the teaching of the full truth of american history as racist.

do these people not look around and notice that in 99% of the cases, 99% of the people on their side are white??

i mean, i know logic is not at all their strong point, and i know the occasional clarence thomas makes it 99% and not 100%, but... c'mon.

i mean, i really have to :smh: when a crowd of entirely or nearly entirely white people calls a diverse crowd that includes people of all colors including other white people "racist".

not one of them stops to think that if *they* weren't the racist ones, maybe they'd have an easier time getting minorities to join them.

The firehose of falsehood, or firehosing, is a propaganda technique in which a large number of messages are broadcast rapidly, repetitively, and continuously over multiple channels (such as news and social media) without regard for truth or consistency. Since 2014, when it was successfully used by Russia during its annexation of Crimea, this model has been adopted by other governments and political movements around the world, including by U.S. president Donald Trump.

Gaslighting is less bad because there is still some awareness by the target that they may be getting manipulated. There is still an objective truth that can be discovered if the target gets away from the abuser and connects to a source of accurate information.

The Firehose of Falsehood is a more insidious meta strategy to so thoroughly and broadly pollute all information streams, that the populace can no longer find trust any information to be accurate.

In Soviet Russia, there was no reliable news source, so ordinary people relied on "Samizdat" passed from reliable person to another to learn what was going on.

Today's disinformation networks are reversed. Reliable news is available, but they've been trained to seek out disinformation instead.

Crazy...

Fascists are mostly white as are many in Northern Europe. But the Fascists in
Sri Lanka and Southesat Asia are mostly brown and the Fascists in Africa are
mostly black. Given the opportunity, any of them will gladly ruin our day.

Now that I've got that out, I don't care what Fascists do as long as they do it from
the confines of a prison cell or the grave. Allowing them to run around plotting and
acting on their plots is very poor policy.

It's definitely race based.

And by not making it a huge part of what is driving their 'replacement theory' insanity - we lose our ability to combat it

It also diminishes the lived experience of black Americans.

I have nothing in common with those in Sri Lank, SE Asia and the continent of Africa. My experience is that of the descendants of enslaved human beings.

This is what I keep citing on this site. That the more partisan people are, the less they understand about or even accurately know about the other side.

99%? Just that occasional guy?

That is called not paying attention.

And America. It's always been this way -

There's a reason MLK was called a Communist and Americans were fed a lot of bullshit about Malcolm X being a died in the wool bigot, and Fred Hampton got murdered (AFTER he pulled together poor white people and hispanics into his movement).

The GOP has been doing this since five minutes after the CRA was signed. They can't help themselves.

They are race hustling, identity politics maggots.
