The new Trump on SNL is a joke

He is at least 100lbs lighter than the Slobfather - sorry that is BS.
I don't care how he sounds or his mannerisms. NBC promoted the original monster - this is worse than airbrushing. That is all.

I didn't watch the whole show but I watched the clip where Youngkin was trying to distance himself from Trump, and I thought he was absolutely incredible. IMO, having him in orange makeup and a costume to try to make him look more like Trump would have distracted from the overall impression and taken away from the way he resembled Trump in the way he rambles, interrupts, has never-ending grievances, etc.

I really, really liked the way he didn't overdo it; if I had closed my eyes I would absolutely not have been able to tell the difference between the impression and the real thing. The impression wasn't a caricature, it was a brilliant and exact copy. And because the real thing is clownish enough already, not overdoing it really points out what a buffoon the real one is.

His voice was eerily similar. I closed my eyes and could barely tell it was an impression. Unfortunately, he does not really look like him at all.

Agreed, he's not a great match physically. But he captures the inner crazy better than anyone else I've seen.

Besides, what makes TFG a monster has nothing to do with his weight. This guy skewers him with his topic-jumping, nonsensical, narcissistic ramblings. That's where the monster lies, not in his obesity. I mean, my mom was obese before she got ill. It didn't make her less beautiful.

And, I think it will really get under his skin, which is a part of Lorne Michaels’ goal.

Alec Baldwin had his own impression was over exaggerating all of tRump’s commentary. It worked.

Trump alternates between angry shouting and a whispered falsetto, the speech rhythm of a conflicted but abusive parent, which seems to resonate with his followers. I think it's the key to how he enthralls those people and the SNL guy did that so well it was scary at times.

You're right - the guy isn't fat enough. So add a few pillows.

His diction, however, is spot on! All those weird pauses and embellishments, I loved it.

I also agree that NBC did a lot to 'fluff' him. Fuck those that did. They couldn't airbrush any of that away. I don't blame the actor; I thought he was good- even if too unfat.
