People 'unvaccinated by choice' in Singapore no longer can receive free covid-19 treatment

US insurers should cease covering idiots who refuse to be vaccinated for medical costs

Eighty-five percent of people in Singapore eligible for coronavirus vaccines are fully vaccinated, and 18 percent have received booster shots.

But the Singaporean government said Monday that it will no longer cover the medical costs of people “unvaccinated by choice,” who make up the bulk of remaining new covid-19 cases and hospitalizations in the city-state.

“Currently, unvaccinated persons make up a sizable majority of those who require intensive inpatient care, and disproportionately contribute to the strain on our health care resources,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement Monday.

“Covid-19 patients who are unvaccinated by choice may still tap on regular health care financing arrangements to pay for their bills where applicable,” the ministry added.

The responsible Vaccinated people are paying the price ultimately. The Insurance companies couldn't care less who pays, just so long as it's not them.

And who is going to go after them? NOBODY. Of course not. Because that's the way America rolls.

I do not pay the same as someone my age who smokes.

Those who are vaccinated should not have to pay the same as someone unvaccinated.

They sometimes issue sensible edicts, but they are authoritarian edicts nonetheless. I‘m not sure that‘s trade we would want to make. Not all American administrations are what one would call „benevolent,“ the previous one being a rather glaring case in point.

Insurance companies in the US needs to do the same thing. Unvaccinated idiots should be denied insurance coverage

Singapore announced Monday that, beginning next month, it will no longer pay for COVID-19 treatment for people who are "unvaccinated by choice," as the island nation faces a surge in cases.

"The Government is currently footing the full COVID-19 medical bills of all Singaporeans, Permanent Residents and Long-Term Pass Holders ... other than for those who tested positive soon after returning from overseas travel," Singapore's Ministry of Health said in a statement. "For the majority who are vaccinated, this special approach for COVID-19 bills will continue until the COVID-19 situation is more stable."

"Currently, unvaccinated persons make up a sizeable majority of those who require intensive inpatient care, and disproportionately contribute to the strain on our healthcare resources," the ministry noted.

The new policy will apply to all unvaccinated COVID-19 patients who are admitted to Singaporean hospitals or COVID-19 treatment facilities on or after Dec. 8, according to the ministry.
