Pssst - Republican voters ...

Have you noticed that while Joe Biden & the Democrats are focused on legislation that improves the lives of all Americans, from infrastructure initiatives to policies that improve healthcare for all?

Have you noticed that your party's representatives are spending their time railing against libraries, Big Bird, and the "War on Christmas"?

You call Democrats anti-American because they're "woke" - but isn't that better than being asleep at the wheel?

Apparently, your mileage may vary. But maybe - just maybe - you'll wake up in time to realize that the people who you voted to represent you are too busy fighting Sesame Street characters to address your very real needs.

Far too many voters are so far down the rabbit hole, that they will eagerly hand the keys back to rethugs. As a black voter, I am far more concerned about voting rights, and gerrymandering, than I am the infrastructure bill. Dems need to hit the ground running, trying to mobilize, " those others," young, poc. And yes dems need to bring out a can of fear, and whip rethugs with it, daily. Fear of poc being wiped fr history, fear of returning to back alley abortions, fear of returning to "good old days" of gays being arrested/thrown in mental institutions, Christianity being forced on us, etc... sounds farfetched, but it's not.
Rethugs win running on emotional issues, while dems run on the common good, and logic. I fear for poc in amerikkka. Glad to be expat

you don't go far enough. If the GQP takes back all of government, if Trump wins in 2024, his first move will be to take over the military. If the GQP takes back power I can foresee a Pinocet type situation where anyone on the left or anyone who has criticized Dear Leader will be imprisoned or worse. Sites like DU will be shut down. A dictator doesn't have a time limit for staying in office. I can foresee we end up with an executive branch (dictator) and courts packed with Nazis to give a semblance of fairness. Trump and his followers are evil. Trump is a mentally ill person who will be the leader of a cult.

With all the rallying around the flag and chants of USA USA, one would think that the republican party members would remember a day when being woke was what led to our citizens of the day becoming known as the greatest generation.

Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor would reportedly write in his diary, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

Whether or not the Admiral actually uttered those words is debatable, however, there is no doubt that the attack did awaken a sleeping giant.

It is no wonder that republicans so adamantly detest those who are woke. It suggests that democrats do not consider themselves superior to the sacrifices of America's greatest generation, unlike today's republicans who are far more morally and intellectual superior. And apparently republican should also be unhappy having an elephant as the party mascot. It must be very humilating to see oneself in the mirror and realize that your party's mascot, known for it's memory, is nothing but another lie that you've been told.
