the law. They are supported by the MSM!, who very seldom seek comments or appearances by democrats. We are headed for hell in this what was once the leader of the free world.

(21,360 posts)Mr. Garland is a great AG but he must make sure that he doesn't give any appearances of being partisan. Joyce Vance thinks that delaying everything is good for our democracy because it means that Mr. Garland won't be able to be called a partisan hack.
Any week now a decision on Bannon will be coming and it will be iron clad.

(1,902 posts)doing, but at some point doesn't the veiled sarcasm get old?
One of the reasons is that democratic pols fear
pay-back when they're out of office - which of course
becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. We have one chance
- just one chance to clear out the rats' nest and you know,
I know and pretty much everyone else on this board knows
things are moving too slow. Stalling while making placating
public statements is a time honored way of doing nothing.
There must be a lot of wealth-money behind
the stalling movement because ultimately, I guess, for some
folks it's not about creating new wealth - but sheltering or
hiding the old in rent seeking opportunities b/c they consider the alternatives too risky.
But you'll never hear that from the board members of fortune 500
b/c the bald truth of it is so appalling. We're told not to question the
motives of people - but how can we not? I want to add that democratic rich
folks won't suffer under an authoritarian regime any more than republican
rich folks - and they know that. This is the face of end stage capitalism. Our betters
are packing their life boats - and frankly we should sink or steal their boats.
Yeah, I went there. I want to add that I understand this post (might) be removed
for whatever nebulous reasons - but would appreciate if those reasons were adequately
articulated.

(21,360 posts)I have been attacked for "supposedly" bashing Mr. Garland so I want to abide by the rules. People who have a different opinion than me can gang up on me and "poof" I am gone.
As far as your post being removed I have never nor will never alert on anyone here.

(15,646 posts)the late stages of 2016 and McConnells threat to label any public release of intelligence concerns about active Russian meddling as partisan? After all of the actual partisanship by the GQP while calling every accountability effort a partisan witch hunt over the past 4 years?
These defenses of Garland in the face of facts, the last 5 years experience, and a rapidly closing window of opportunity are beginning to seem starry-eyed.

(19,993 posts)would never even think of claiming election fraud and trying to overturn an election without a pile of real evidence. I think it suggests that these GQPers have gotten away with so much lawlessness in their lifetimes that they have come to believe they can get away with absolutely anything and are truly above the law. White privilege on steroids.
