TFG tied all infrastructure plans to the Congressional democrats agreeing not to investigate his many crimes. That stupidity cost TFG any chance for an infrastructure bill

But as regular readers may recall, the then-president decided to attach some strings. In May 2019, however, according to Trump's own version of events, the Republican presented Democrats with an offer: The White House would work on infrastructure if Democrats agreed to stop investigating the then-president's many scandals. Democratic leaders, naturally, said that wasn't an option they added, of course, that Congress can legislate and conduct oversight at the same time at which point Trump abandoned the process.
Two years later, the Republican settled on a different kind of idea: If he couldn't have an infrastructure deal, then Biden shouldn't get one, either.
Indeed, Politico reported months ago that the former president was determined to "sabotage" the entire process: "Trump is trying to ensure that his successor, Joe Biden, suffers the indignity of the 'infrastructure week' jokes as well."

(6,182 posts)Having been there, Joe understands Congress and how to get things done. He knows how to work with people, and is patient enough to work through obstacles to seal the deal.
The hallmarks of Biden's Presidency will be his integrity, genuine concern for the people, and his ability to work through obstacles to get the job done.
Trump never realized that there was more than one person in a position of power in the US government. His style was to force people to conform to his will. He also lacked the ability to follow through; being more interested in the announcement of a project than in the hard work needed to make it happen.
For Trump, the hallmarks of his presidency were his greed, dishonesty, and gross incompetence.

(1,156 posts)You summarized the stark differences between President Biden and the egotistical bigot who doesn't know how to do jack s*it. I am proud of the leadership and dogged determination President Biden has demonstrated; my only regret is that his grand vision was obstructed by the corrupt minority party. History will not look at the GQP kindly when all is said and done.
