A Georgia judged as banished Elf On The Shelf from his county.

A Georgia judge is hoping to make the holiday season a little easier for some parents by banning Elf on the Shelf.

The Christmas tradition, which originated from a 2005 children's book entitled "The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition," centers around a Scout Elf sent from the North Pole, that when present, encourages kids to be on their best behavior to stay on Santa's Nice List.

The holiday tradition while fun for kids, can be a burden on some parents.

After seeing a conversation on social media about Elf on the Shelf, Judge Robert D. Leonard II decided to take matters into his own hands.

"My family loves all of our Elves and it is a fun family tradition. However, it is a nightly commitment and if you miss a night, you have some explaining to do," Judge Leonard said.

She didn't play the creepy Santa Claus is watching if you're naughty or nice scam which would have infuriated my mom who already thought Christmas was the corruption of a pagan Holiday and offensive to God.

When I was a child the Christmas holidays were always a time of religious warfare among the adults in my family. None of them agreed how, when, or if Christmas should be celebrated. Sometimes the war ran cold, sometimes it was hot.

My grandfather always supported his wife in her "traditional" U.S.A. celebration of Christmas, thus the elves and gifts from Santa Claus, but he didn't believe in it himself.

Alas, my children have stories about me and my annual manifestations of Christmas PTSD.

My wife's family celebrates a thoroughly Catholic Christmas, a blend of Mexican and Irish traditions as practiced in the U.S. Southwest. That's all about baby Jesus, attending Mass, and not much Santa Claus.

"I decided that for those people that needed to retire their Elf or put it out later in the year, I could take the heat for them with a mock order," Leonard added.

The kids who were 6 and 8 at the time called it creepy and hated it. They asked what the hell is this stupid thing?!? 😂. I find it hilarious nowadays, but family makes fun of me for jumping on some dumb trend. My husband and son torched that little shit in the Fire Pit.
