Election officials across the nation---Democrats, Republicans, states in which Trump won, states

in which President Biden won---have been repeatedly threatened with angry death threats in phone calls, texts and emails laced with obscenities simply because they agree Trump lost a fair election. In nearly all cases, law enforcement refused to even investigate. In some cases, the excuse was that the phones were "untraceable", yet Reuters did trace them and contacted them. Nearly all were unrepentant, identified themselves by name and said they'd continue the terrorism "until they agree Trump won".

It is my understanding that even when the identities were provided to law enforcement---nothing was done.

Remember that "social contract" stuff from high school? We surrender our right to personally punish those who wrongfully injure or threaten us to our government: we delegate our natural right to seek justice and recompense from criminals who offend against us to our JUSTICE system.

How long before some of "us" decide to reclaim and exercise that right to seek justice if our government will not?

To be clear, I do NOT condone vigilantism, but can we say it "won't happen here"? Are we sure all of us are "better than that"?

We have to pressure our leaders to get on the job and save our democracy from the insurrection.

"Nearly all were unrepentant, identified themselves by name and said they'd continue the terrorism "until they agree Trump won"."

Rules for thee but not for me.

These bullies never grew up, never heard the word no, and never learned how to play nice and share in kindergarten. They received participation ribbons, and wore caps and gowns at the end of 5th and 8th grade thinking they'd really "graduated." By high school, if they weren't making grades for football or cheerleading, they could care less about academics. They certainly never paid attention in American Government/Comparative Government.

They picked a team, and went all in for their guy because they liked his crass, obnoxious, bloviating braggadocio. Just like their guy, their lives were a facade--what they show on FB and IG is their best life, but not their real life.

The Oaf Keepers/3%ers in the ranks of law enforcement need to be weeded out. The Proud Little Boys playing GI Joe need to be treated like the armed gangs they are. If it was anyone but slightly obese, out of shape, shaved head to hid the balding, and the requisite goatee or beard on pasty white guys, threats like those discussed in the original article would be investigated, and the perps arrested and facing fines and likely jail time.

They are loud mouthed, ignorant bullies. Dangerous bullies.
